SITE. I CONTINUE TO CREATE EXCELLENT NEW QUIZ MATERIAL FOR WHEN WE DO
EVENTUALLY RESUME...
STAY SAFE ALL
IN THE INTEREST OF
FAIRNESS & THE GOOGLING OF ANSWERS, THE USE OF MOBILE PHONES IS STRICTLY
FORBIDDEN DURING THE QUIZ, ANY TEAM FOUND CHEATING WILL BE DISQUALIFIED
If you're looking for an easy quiz then this
may not be for you! But if you're up for a challenge please come along...
For those who have not attended the quiz before, the Romilly
Quiz is held in the lounge
each Sunday evening
(except for Bank Holidays) from 8:40pm until 10:15pm.
There is a warm and
friendly atmosphere with new players' made to feel very welcome. The entry fee
for the quiz is £1 per player (& has been since 2009), with no cap on the number of player's in
any one team. All teams taking part have to give themselves a suitable name.
You will be competing against some of our resident teams such as Pic n' Mix,
Jacpot!, Army Surplus, Team Sookie, Double Trouble
and The Less Eminent Victorians to name but a few. Our quiz is very much a
fun quiz, but there is a competitive element amongst some of the regular teams who
enjoy a challenge, so a quiz of all easy questions is not an option.
The general knowledge quiz is primarily aimed at
the over 30s but don’t let that deter you if you think your smarter than our
over 40 year olds!!!
As you can see from the results page, the winning teams usually answer more
than 80% of the questions correctly.
The quiz itself is split into
two half’s with a picture and table quiz forming one part, with the winning
team receiving a £10 prize. The other half of the quiz is a forty question
main general knowledge quiz, with around 25% of the questions being multiple
choice. The quiz also contains a 10 question wipe-out round where incorrect
answers can win or loose you the quiz. The number of players' determines
the cash prize available that evening, the more people that play, the bigger the
cash prize!
Halfway through the main
general knowledge quiz (9:10) we have a ten minute break to allow you to refill your glasses
etc. Players' are
also given the opportunity to buy ‘Snowball Question’
raffle tickets, at the end of the quiz raffle tickets are drawn. The
holder of the first successfully drawn ticket will be asked a question regarding
an event in a particular year and if answered correctly, they win £50. Anyone who has a
‘Snowball Question’ ticket drawn wins
£5 regardless whether they get the question right. Some examples of previous
‘Snowball Question’ can be found on
this web site along with some previous quizzes in the 'free quizzes' section.
This is not a bought in mass produced quiz supplied to many other pubs and
clubs, read by someone who has not prepared the questions being asked. I
personally select and check the forty questions each week and prepare the
picture and table quizzes.
For those of you unable to attend the quiz in
person all the questions, pictures and table quizzes are available
FREE
via a download file.
Thanks for looking.
